There's something im not very happy about myself.
It has now become a necessity to restructure my life.
Computer usage has become an integral part... and i hate it! Because at the end of the day, nothin's accomplished and i get so frustrated.
Every waking moment should be spent battling against time for efficiency.
---------------------------------------------
What excites me most is knowing what i can do with myself... and taking another bold step forward.
I met a man who retired into setting his business as a stall owner and we spoke over lunch and even after.
We could converse very well cuz it was in teochew, of course! Thou i can positively say that mine is better than his.
But he impressed me with his use of English and the way he spoke, his thought processes... and the assertive look he sends when he speaks... and i told myself "im sure he comes from a bigger background. Let's see."
Into the conversation, i realised he has worked in several established reputable company and was their country XX manager. {holy shit! Do you know how big that is?}
Then he asked abt my professional background too... and he widened his eyes while he asked "Where was XXX company? Who is the chairman? Who is his PA?"
OMG! the chairman's PA's his second sister! My ex chairman being a very high-profile man {mind you, he was an ex minister without portfolio}, his PA is also a very respectable figure.
That aside, we discussed about politics etc... and he inspired me; well, more like he showed me how i could get what i want.
Of late, at the mention of that previous company, people tell me "eh! My dad's working in that company too! Do you know him?" It has happened at least twice thus far, with the exact same phrase. For a company with a headcount of at least 10,000 people in all the business units, it's really coincidental that i know both through direct working relations {meaning i have spoken to them coupla times}.
In retrospect, im glad i joined that company {and left}. ha... If not, i wouldnt have met goh chok tong in person on a function... i wouldnt have spoken to my ex chairman and shaken his hand... i wouldnt have interviewed on several occations an author of a book... wouldnt be able to look at reporters or newscasters now and say "Hey! I had a working relationship with him/her"... and know shopping centre management staffs... and know ppl from public relations and advertising agencies...
